Explore the intricacies of the world through the lens of nucleic acids—the building blocks of life. Nucleic acids, including the DNA and RNA, play pivotal roles across diverse fields, such as the following examples:

  • Biopharmaceuticals: The development of mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 highlights the rapid advancements and powerful potential of nucleic acid therapeutics.
  • Food safety: Nucleic acid-based detection methods can act as an effective tool to identify foodborne viruses, detect food allergens, and even uncover instances of food fraud.
  • Forensics: DNA analysis can shed new insights into crime scene investigations.
  • Medical diagnostics: Nucleic acids can be used to detect genetic disorders, cancer biomarkers, and infectious diseases etc.

In this Shimadzu Digital Classrooms, join us as we learn more about nucleic acid analysis, using UV-Vis spectroscopy and microchip electrophoresis. We will be introducing Shimadzu’s innovative technologies —TMSPC-8i, BioSpec-nano, and MultiNA—and showcase how they each play a crucial role in various spheres of science and industry. Register now!

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn about the capabilities of Shimadzu's TMSPC-8i to measure thermal stability of DNA/RNAs
  • Learn about the convenience of using Shimadzu's BioSpec-nano for nucleic acid quantitation down to 1µL
  • Learn how Shimadzu's MultiNA system can automate gel electrophoresis with improved reproducibility and sensitivity
