When it comes to sustainable packaging, recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) is emerging as a key material in consumer products. But how can we ensure the safety and quality of these recycled plastics?

A crucial step lies in identifying and addressing impurities, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and trace metals. In this session, discover how HS-20 NX Headspace Autosampler simplifies VOC analysis—detecting compounds such as acetaldehyde, benzene, and limonene—without the need for complex solvent extractions.

You’ll also explore how ICPMS-2050 system efficiently identifies trace metals while reducing argon gas consumption, enabling sustainable and cost-effective workflows.

Join us to uncover actionable insights and innovative solutions that ensure the safety and quality of recycled plastics. Register now!

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain valuable insights into the use of Headspace GC-MS and ICP-MS technologies for detecting impurities in recycled plastics (rPET)

  • Learn how Shimadzu’s Headspace GC-MS, with its short and inert transfer line, enables direct impurity detection in rPET—eliminating the need for complex solvent extractions

  • Explore the capabilities of the ICPMS-2050 system, featuring Shimadzu’s Advanced Mini-Torch system, to support sustainable and cost-effective workflows
